I previously shared a tutorial on how to create Pinterest Optomised blog post images.

In today's tutorial I'm sharing another method, this time for making use of photos (i.e not just an image with text). For this tutorial you'll need Photoshop which can be downloaded here.

Does it really matter if your images are Pinterest optomised?

I wanted to see if having an image like the one I created in the tutorial (long and including 3 images as opposed to just one) would actually did make a difference to pageviews. I'm pleased to say that yes, it most definitely does!

I published the post on how to use the monthly notes pages of your planner without the Pinterest optomised image and left it for 2 weeks. Each day I tracked the number of views on the post (particularly the number of views coming from Pinterest).

I then created the pinnable image in the video above and pinned it to Pinterest. The next day that post shot up to my 2nd most popular post for the day, and my number one referrer to that post was Pinterest. So if you're wondering if it is actually worth taking the time to make long vertical pins I definitely think that it is!
