How to make a planner bookmark (DIY Page Markers Tutorial)

Posted on

It's no secret that I'm a planner addict! One of the ways I like to customise my planners and personalise them is by making DIY bookmarks/page markers. They are great for marking your place in your planner, as well as being able to divider your planner into sections so you can easily find exactly what you're looking for.

I recorded a quick video tutorial sharing how I make tabbed bookmarks in Photoshop. If you don't already have Photoshop, here's how you can download it.

To enlarge the screen of the video tutorial, click the square icon in the bottom right hand corner of the video (it will say ‘full screen’ when you hover your mouse over the icon). If you miss a step or need to re-watch you can pause, restart, rewind and rewatch the recording as many times as you need.

The size of your bookmark depends on the size of your planner. I tyically use 6" high/long x 2" wide. I tend to use A5 (half page size), 7 x 9" or A4 (full page size planners) - this size works best for all of these planner sizes but could also be used for Kikki K, filofax, personal size etc.

I recommend printing onto cardstock for extra durability, and laminating if you have a laminating machine.
