These spreadsheets can be used for your first apartment or first family home. There is space to put the quantity you need for each item so if you have a family you would just enter a higher quantity for the relevant items.

There is space to enter:
- Item
- Priority (1 = Need, 2 = Need, but not straight away, 3 = Wish list)
- Quantity
- Budget cost (per item)
- Total budget cost
- Actual cost (per item)
- Total actual cost
- Difference (between budget and actual)
- Brand
- Where from
- URL link for the item
- Receipt filed (Y = Yes, N = No)
- Notes

You can filter each column so you know exactly what you need to get at each store all at once to avoid multiple trips. If you're purchasing multiple whitegoods or furniture items from the same shop, you'll know exactly what you're getting so you can purchase at the same time to reduce the delivery cost.

Keep a copy of the spreadsheet after you've moved in and you'll already have your home inventory sorted. When you need to replace something e.g. the microwave you'll have all the details (brand, model, cost) for a warranty claim, or if you want to buy the same appliance again.

I recommend that you carefully check you have entered the correct vales and have not over-ridden formulas prior to using the information for taxes and financial reporting, and consultant an accountant if required.
